Bambi

Bambi was the leader of our herd, always the first to check what was going on, who had arrived and whether everything was under control. All three alpacas came to us together from Alpaka ranč Slovenija, but none had led their previous herd, so the contest for the top spot began the moment they arrived. When it came to leading, Bambi had no rivals, and his position was settled quickly.

He liked people's company but knew how to set boundaries, stepping away to show that was enough for now. Alpacas love to sunbathe, but Bambi was an Olympic champion at it. On the hottest summer days we would sometimes check anxiously whether he was all right, while he dozed happily on his "beach".
